9 Collocations: Verb + Noun + Preposition

Aug 6, 2020 | VOCABULARY

A month ago, we already talked about major types of collocations, one of which is the combination of adjective and noun. Today, I’d like to bring this topic alive again with a focus on expressions formed by verb, noun, and preposition. Typical examples include pay attention to, take care of, gain access to, to name a few.

Having said that, I’d rather introduce phrases of intermediate level and above than go over what appears to be common knowledge.

The following collocations are mostly formal, unless mentioned otherwise, and hence can be used in formal situations.

Enjoy the ride!
