All too often, I see a great many students overuse ‘very’ in their speaking. Though it is not wrong to do this, there are an abundance of alternatives to make you sound less repetitive and more like a native speaker. One of the quickest hacks I’d suggest is to use adverbs instead of ‘very’.
You’ll find substitutes for ‘very’ in the following visual, all of which mean ‘to a great degree’ and can be used interchangeably in most cases.
