Fun Facts About Thanksgiving

Nov 29, 2020 | CELEBRATIONS

Thanksgiving Day is composed of three main activities: spending time with family, eating a hearty meal of turkey, and watching football. But how did these traditions come about? Have you ever wondered about the origin of Thanksgiving day?

To be fair, Thanksgiving itself is blend of facts and myths. Some so-called facts lack evidence, while many parts of the holiday have become excessively commercialized.

I’ve never been curious about Thanksgiving until recently when I had a growing interest in American culture, including special celebrations and the rich histories associated with them. The bounty of information related to this festivity is real, and I’m far from trying to dazzle anyone with tasty turkey trivia. My humble attempt is if I were to materialize my dream of studying in America one day, I’d have some fun dinner conversation to contribute at the very least.

In case you don’t share the same wish with me, you have every reason to know more about Thanksgiving which has been increasingly embraced in Vietnam over the past few years.

So here are nine fascinating facts about this born-in-the-USA holiday.
